Help & Instructions

What does this extension do?

This extension allows the GM to set fixed assets, textboxes or counters to the players' viewport, along with the possibility to create buttons that hide/unhide those.

Some examples of what you can do with this would be:

  • Pin handouts like notes to your viewport or your players’
  • Make a boss bar that everyone has pinned in the upper part of the screen
  • Make each player a menu to view texts, counters or images only visible to whoever you want

How to do stuff

You can create a group with the New Group button, select one or more assets and a name. By default you are the only one that sees the elements of that group. You can change who sees it by right-clicking it.

Each group has the following controls:

  • A switch to toggle the visibility of all group elements
  • A green button to add new elements to the group
  • A white button to move/edit all elements of the group
  • A red button to delete the group
  • You can reorganize the group elements by dragging and dropping them. The same applies to reorganize the order of the groups.

The only one worth explaining is the move/edit button present on each group and each group element.

Move/Edit Element

  • WASD to move the element
  • Arrow keys to rescale (can deform)
  • Shift + any of the above = bigger steps
  • Q and E to rotate
  • + and - to rescale

One property of the group elements is that when loading a group, the element at the end of the list will be visually on top of the rest.

Elements Canvas

Each element of each group has a personal canvas. Right-click on the pinned image to access these options:

  • Add assets to the canvas
  • Add a textbox to the canvas
  • Add a counter to the canvas
  • Move/edit the main image (use this if an image blocks your access to the controls, just click and WASD)

Edit Canvas Elements

  • Drag to reposition
  • Q and E to rotate
  • + and - to rescale
  • Arrow keys to rescale and deform
  • L to lock (only GM)
  • H to hide from players (only GM)
  • Delete to erase (only GM)
  • Mouse wheel to move image layers up/down (textboxes and counters are always on top)
  • Right-click a textbox to select color, font and size

Buttons

If you right-click an image in a canvas you can turn it into a button. Once you’ve added a button, go to the main window's Buttons section to edit it.

The button config window shows all groups and elements. Checkboxes determine what appears/disappears when the button is clicked. Note: a button is only functional while it's locked.

If you want a button "floating in the nothing" like an icon to open a window, a good trick is creating a group with only a transparent PNG. That way only the canvas images are visible.

I think that’s all. Any doubt you can ping me in the Discord server. I'm NarcolepticDracu.
